DIY Barn-Wood Shelf

I had a vision.  I knew what I wanted.  I knew where I was putting it too!

I needed two things, barn-wood and beautiful chippy corbels.  First stop, Fragments.

I found these lovely babes at his location in Linden, Memories and More.  Aren’t they lovely?

Next, Barn-wood.  I contacted White Barn Vintage.  She had some awesome wood for me.  Even came with some wormholes!

Next, I needed a handy man!  Thank goodness for my dad.  He has worked construction his whole life.  Down to his barn we went.  Thanks Dad!

I didn’t want the “newly cut” edges to show.  I had my dad cut the ruff edge of another piece of barn-wood to add to the ends of the shelf.  Turned out perfect.

Then we added the corbels and BAM.  LOVE LOVE LOVE!

Here she is in her new home!

  2. Oh this is a great job! I really like the rustic touch you’ve added to it, and I love the contrast between the wood and the white.
