There she is my friends!
From dark and RED to white and light! It’s a refreshing change.
I’m totally in love with our bathroom! For the first part of our remodel, check out “Part One: 1/2 Bath Makeover” HERE.
This bathroom is right when you walk in from the garage. You walk into our mudroom/laundry room then to the right is this half bathroom. If you continue walking through the mudroom, there’s the kitchen. Since we remodeled the kitchen [HERE], we felt that this whole “flow” of the house needed to blend.
Here’s what happened:
1. I painted the cabinet with Annie Sloan Chalk Paint (Duck Egg Blue)
2. Found new hardware
3. Granite installed
4. Wood (ship-lap) installed on walls
5. New mirror, light and toilet

I LOVE this mirror [World Market] and light [Lowe’s] combo on the white walls! My DIY galvanized hardware [HERE] ties in great with the galvanized barn light.
Since our summer’s are short here in Michigan, I wanted to bring the beach home!
Here’s a close up of the walls and the bead-board added to the ceiling.
After completing this bathroom, I want more wood in this house! It adds so much texture and it’s a nice change from painted drywall. Are you diggin’ it as much as I am?
Love it? Pin it!
Gorgeous! I love the light, breezy feel of the powder room afterward. My favorite thing is the jute rope word wall art. Love it! Fabulous job.
Thanks Stephanie. I ALMOST took the rope piece back to the store. I’m so glad I kept it!!!!
Completely refreshing, beautiful and functional. Great makeover! I can’t wait to start our bathrooms. Where did you get the ship-lap? I love it so much. I wish I could remove what’s on our walls and have a hidden treasure of it everywhere. Ahhh dreaming…
Wouldn’t that be amazing, finding shiplap!!!! Oh man! We cut plywood into 8 inch strips and put those up! So it’s my “faux ship-lap.” Thanks for reading. The bathroom feels so much BETTER! And, I can’t wait to see what you do with your bathrooms up there!
Sara, it looks SO BEAUTIFUL! I love the change, such a nice airy feel. I am inspired now to do my bathroom!
Thanks April! Means so much! Well, you do your bathroom and I’ll work on my living room now! Your gray walls have me going crazy over here!
What a beautiful transformation! I’m a “light, bright and airy” kind of chick, so yes, I’m diggin’ it!!
Glad you’re diggin’ it too! I’m so OVER the dark colors. I need to repaint many more rooms! Thanks for reading!
It looks so much better! I love how it is bright now in the bathroom. Your decor is amazing–good job!
Thanks Tammy! I’m SO glad the RED is gone!!!
This looks so great! I am wanting to do a “beach theme” for our main bathroom and love the walls and ceiling! You did a great job!
what type of paint, primer ,color did you paint the walls ??
We are in a shiplap wall install soon
Great job !!
Thanks Greg! We used wood primer and the color is Alabaster by Sherwin Williams! We just did our master with shiplap and used the same color, LOVE IT!! Good luck with your project, it’s so worth it!
