This is our LOVELY RED half bathroom! When we first moved in, we painted our whole house. This bathroom was already RED so I thought it would be best to repaint it RED since it’s such a hard color to cover. Well folks. The time has come to say good bye! (FYI: This is a difficult room to photograph. NO light and SMALL).
I’ve always liked the color “Duck Egg Blue” by Annie Sloan, but didn’t know what to paint THAT color. I decided that I would paint the vanity this color and then play off that for the rest of the decor. This cabinet is the same as in our kitchen so this was my TEST before tackling “My Shabby Cabs.” I really liked how it came out and it was SO simple. I finally convinced the Hubs that I can “handle” the kitchen!
After Christmas, we headed to Florida for two weeks. While I was shopping there (imagine that, right??) I was inspired to complete the bathroom in a cottage/beach style. We rented bikes on Anna Maria Island. I went shopping one afternoon while the Hubs walked our daughter Eva. I was caught cruising back to our house with my arms full. We were crackin’ UP!
When we returned home, I found these lovely handles on Amazon! Love Love!
When we picked out our granite for the kitchen, we decided since they will be out installing we might as well have the bathroom done too! We picked out a color called, “Star Beach.”
I always wanted ship-lap somewhere in the house. I thought it would work well in our “Cottage/Beach” bathroom. So, some wood planks on the wall and added bead board to the ceiling.
I’m really loving how it’s all coming together. There’s some nice gaps between the wood and I can’t wait to see it painted! I already have our mirror and light ready to go! New toilet (Oh yahhhh)! Keep an eye out for Part 2. I think you’re gonna LOVE it!
