That’s my excuse for all the silence on the blog. #sorry
It’s been crazy over here! There’s nothing pretty to take pictures of… just a lot of dust, toys and a random love seat in the dining room. Well, it could be my hillbilly sette! Ha
I’m really excited for everything going on over here. I wanted to give you guys a quick home tour and explain what’s going on, our goals and dreams. Please disregard the mess.
Let’s start in the master bedroom. As you can see, it’s empty. Our main level is empty. We are living up stairs where there is three bedrooms and a bathroom. They are jammed pack with clothes, toys, pillows and a random bed on the floor. Oh, and, our TV is on Eva’s dresser. It’s really fun living like this… did you hear that sarcasm? I thought so ….
We just recently completed our master bedroom with some shiplap and love. Check that reveal out HERE.
Now, we added some maple hardwoods. I think this really completed the look.
The walk in closet will get a makeover too. It will be a mix of shelves, a dresser and some places to hang items. A quick paint job and new trim and she will be good to go. Oh, and that light has to GO.
Next up, the master bathroom. This room has always been on the list but has been missed. Once this room is complete, everything will be done now. I’ve convinced the hubs to gut it now since we are already living like this! It’s embarrassing…. so this is all you get to see right now!
Need some hot water for your bath? Please use the beautiful wrench….
Our kitchen was completed last year. You can check that beauty out HERE.
Now, the living room. The room that totally looked out of place once we really got cooking’ on the house. We removed a LARGE fireplace that was in-between the living room and dining room. Here’s the before.
And, now the current view.
More open and more light. Love it! The fireplace didn’t work, FYI. It collected a lot of dust and was a huge hazard for the littles. I did create a padding around the fireplace when Eva was smaller. You can check that out HERE.
My new favorite is standing at the island and being able to look into the living room. Super cool.
We added board and batten to break up this huge wall.
I’m really excited to see this room come together. Brown to gray. More white and the TV will be moved to the stair wall, on the right.
(You can see the new outlets for the TV) There’s also a custom TV console being made from reclaimed barn wood.
Here’s the hallway heading into the master from the kitchen. All the floor were redone and are much lighter. They are perfect.
Here’s the formal dining room / sitting room’s new floors too!
The front door!
See how the floor are darker by the front door? Well, the old home owners had that replaced and the wood doesn’t match. This week, that will be removed, new floors installed, sanded and stained.
Finally, the laundry room / mud room. This room you enter when coming into the house from the garage. We want this room to flow with the kitchen. We did get new washer and dryers as our old ones were red and didn’t go with our decor.
Our new cabinet, which will include the sink and a garage drawer will be to the right of the washer and dryer. It’s gray. The granite from the kitchen will go on top of that. Then, a table will be built to cover the washer and dyer. Then, subway tile will cover the wall up to ceiling.
When you walk in, you see this. This was a closet. Lockers will be built here with a bench for coats, book bags and shoes.
Well, there it is folks! Stay tuned as I’ll update you on each room. I can’t wait to get this house back together and I’m also very grateful for all the work being done.
Love it? Pin it!
